My first amigurumi

I had never made any amigurumi before.  Amigurumi is a crochet stuffed animal (or character).  I figured I'd go simple and make a ball, this is what I made:

It's a soot sprite!  I got this pattern from Etsy.  It was kind of hard at first, but once I started getting the feel for the fuzzy yarn, it went along quite smoothly.  I will say this, though:  I will probably never be making anything with that fuzzy stuff again.  It was soooo hard to keep it from tangling or getting too tight compared to the worsted weight yarn.

I have been working on my Geisha, but I haven't taken a picture of her.  I don't know why, I just haven't.  I've been frazzled lately for some reason, so hopefully I can get a picture of her up soon.

I have to pack my little sprite into a box with some little star candies and send him off to my sister.  Happy stitching, everyone!

Darn it, Toshiba!

I am computerless (for now) but alive.  I really don't like updating from my tablet and phone, so I won't be able to update much until I get my parts in the mail.

Should have some nice WIP pictures when I'm able to post from the computer.  Happy stitching, everyone!

Happy birthday, my littlest minion.

My daughter turned 2 today.  She got lots of stuff and we went out to Toys R Us, gave her $100, and let her have free reign of the store.  She got TWO things with that money:  an indoor trampoline and a Frozen flip chair.

Anyway...not much on my crafting because I'd been planning her birthday for the last week or so.  I should have stuff for everyone in the near future.

Happy stitching, everyone.  Random post is random (and totally unnecessary!).

Mystery afghan clue 8 and Geisha WIP

Happy belated Easter!  We had an egg hunt and lots of food. Hope everyone else had a great holiday weekend!

I finished my mystery afghan clue last night because...I don't know why I took so long on this one.  Here's what we have so far!

Week 8 was the pink border around the squares.  So nothing really exciting.  I know you can't tell from the picture, but the pink is actually little criss-crosses all the way around the afghan.  The next clue makes the afghan ruffly supposedly.  I'm only part way through the first round of clue 9, but it doesn't look very complicated and I'm hoping it doesn't take me very long.  Next week is the last clue for this and then it's done!

I have been working on my Geisha every night the last week or so.  This is what I have!

Getting ever closer to being done.  Once the rest of this green part is done, I will be halfway through this.  My husband thinks I should do a small cross stitch project once I hit that halfway point so that this one catches my interest again.  It's not that I'm uninterested, it's that I have definitely slowed down a lot.  In my defense though, this is the largest thing I've cross stitched.

Mmkay.  I suppose that's all I have for y'all.  Happy stitching, everyone!

Spring Cleaning

Pardon my absence from the internet for a few days.  I've been deep cleaning my house one room at a time.  I've got one more room to do and then I'm finally done.  Then it's back to the daily grind.

Good news, though, I have a WIP of my Geisha.

I'm just happy to be working on her again.  I set her aside to work on some of my crochet projects and mostly all I did was start three more and then set them aside as I ran out of yarn.  I desperately need to go shopping.

Nothing new going on in my life.  I've been feeling loads better, more energetic, and even went down four sizes over the last month.  That meal plan that I changed the family to has been beneficial to everyone.  My husband has a lot more energy, is a lot happier, and is even working harder.  My kids love the foods and they benefit because I've been taking them out to the playgrounds more and more now that I don't hate the world anymore.

Hmm...I'll have a mystery afghan WIP probably tomorrow or Saturday.  We're dying eggs soon, so I better get to it.

Happy stitching, everyone, and if I don't update before then, happy Easter!
