A recent project and Loot Crate January 2015

I have been crocheting a bit lately.  My son asked for a Link hat, so I complied only to have made it and have him tell me he doesn't want it.  My daughter on the other hand loves it, so I guess it's hers.  Here is the hat I made yesterday.

I based it on A Link to the Past, that's why there's a yellow brim.  I modified my slouchy beanie hat pattern to make this and my daughter just loves it.  I'm mostly just glad that it came out alright because I've never made a hat or even modified any crochet patterns to suit my needs.

On to Loot Crate!

You may have noticed that I didn't do a December Loot Crate post.  That's because I never got it.  I mean...I got it, but the vultures in my house (husband and son) got to it before I did and took everything.  I DID get to keep the little Joker-Batman Funko Pop! figure and the Simpson's wallet, but no pictures because they're all the way across the room and I'm just soooooo lazy today.

Anyway, on to the first Loot Crate of the year!  First up, we have:

Don't mind my husband's furry hand in the picture.  The first thing I noticed was that there was a shirt this time around.

Voltron blueprints!  My dad used to watch Voltron with me when I was a kid, so I sent that picture to him.  There was also my favorite item and the one thing I was very much hoping would be in this crate:  8-Bit sunglasses.

There was also a notebook that is meant for making comics.  I filled out the first page and was going to share it, but the drawings are rather...um...poor.  I don't know, I think I just haven't drawn anything for a while and need to practice.

Next up:

A Space Invaders (sort of) neck tie.  My husband was very, very surprised to learn that I knew how to tie a tie.  Apparently it's something of which he had no idea.  The video game thing, I'm not really sure what they were going for with that, but it is like a little video game shaped person that is on display with the rest of my Loot Crate figures on top of my entertainment center.

And last, but certainly not least:

Star Wars issue number one with a Loot Crate exclusive cover.  I'll be honest, I didn't know there was a Star Wars comic.  I mean, it doesn't surprise me, but I have never read it before.  I'm probably not going to open this and I'm just going to stick it in with my comic and manga collection.

There you have it!  January's Loot Crate!  If you aren't a member of Loot Crate and would like to get your own, you can get a subscription HERE!

Mmkay, I'm baking bread currently and was just sitting down between loaves, so I'm off.  Happy stitching, everyone!
